The Leadership/Management Diagnostic Test

Are you a D, I, S, or C from the leadership/management diagnostic test? The result after conducting the diagnostic test in class was that I am a S (steadiness) and a high in C (conscientiousness). I think that the results were pretty much correct overall. The description of a steadiness person is that one like to demonstrate patience, desires to help others, shows loyalty, etc. I am this kind of person, but I don't agree on the "cooperating with others to carry out the task" part because I don't really like group work. I tend to like to get tasks done by doing them alone. And as for a conscientiousness person, I do work "conscientiously within existing circumstances to ensure quality and accuracy." Whenever I have to get something done, at work or in school, I am very serious about it and hope that the outcome will be good. I really like things to be accurate so that I'll know what to do and how to do it.

Basically, I think I am both a type C and S. I am a conscientious and steady person that can not dominate or influence others. I do not have those powers and would not like such powers. So, I think the result of the leadership/management diagnostic test is pretty accurate. I also think that it will be very help if I know what type people are around me. If I know what type that person is, I will then know how to act toward that person in order to cooperate smoothly in terms of relationships and/or work. I think that if we know what others' personalities are like, then it will be a lot easier to work things out in all kind of situations.

Are you suggesting that you need/would find the test results of co-workers and others you come in contact helpful in order to better work with them in a group?
Don’t you think the best way to get to know someone is just by being with/around them?
I don’t think a test is needed to be know how to act with people (whether relationship and/or work). People aren’t one way all the time, most of the times maybe, but not all. So when taking the test how the feel of themselves may be higher or lower than how they actual are (in psychology we’re kind of studying this in that a person’s actual self may differ than how they see themselves) and these self-impressions can bias a test such as this so that when it comes time for you to work with this person you’ll find them totally different from what you had prepared yourself for based on this DISC test.
Tests are great but their purpose is really to assist, the best way to really know the characteristics of a person is through observation and interaction.

After several class of interaction with you, I think the diagnostic test is right about you being S High C. You don't really talk that much right?? I made several attempts in the beginning of the course to talk to you, but it didn't work >.< Well... I think I am getting better at it :P I can understand why don't you like any power over you. I don't neither, but it depends on who the other person is, either I respect him or not.

I do like the idea knowing the personality type of people around me. It'll help me to adjust to them and the situation much easier. And I am sure it will help avoid a lot a lot of personality clashes.

I'm surprised that you dont want to have the ability to dominate and influence others. I do see how some people might find it difficult to do so, but I think that for the majority those who done have that quality would like to have it. It is very important to have the C and S personalities because they do get a lot of work done, but I guess its always good to see when you are able to influence people to get things done your way.

yeah i agree with you. by knowing other people's personality, we could work much smoothy and eaiser with other. and with less conflict. if working together at work, it helps a lot.

I had worked with you several times and I think the description fits you very well. I can see why you would want dominant powers. I agree that if we know what type of people we work with, it will really help with our interactions during group work.

It is very good to see that you know yourself very well. To me, the test was pretty much right. I understand that you don’t like group work, but things will be easier if everything works as a team. It is always sad to do everything by yourself, but I respect the way you handle your work. And I hope I can handle everything by myself, then I don’t have to bother other people at all. Good to see you do everything very seriously, sometimes I will lose the motivation.

I appreciate your honesty. For this test I found it incredibly hard to pick the answers that best descibe my personality rather than the ones I would have preferred to descibe me. If I could think of one word to accurately describe me it would have been tardy. But in this assignment I came out as being a high Conscientious and high Influential type person. This is true for me at my 9 to 5 but I tend to be the latter after 5pm. I wish I could tell you whether or not I agree whether or not your test results describe your personality but I am not very familiar with the names of the people in our class. Maybe if our group activities would have allowed us to mingle more this would have not been the case
